10 Reasons Why a Cruise Might be Exactly What You Need Right Now
1. They're Economical
Cruises are a super-affordable way to travel. Did you know that you can get on a 7-day cruise on the biggest, best cruise ship in the world for around only $1,000 per person? And you'll stop at a bunch of amazing tropical beaches along the way. You can't beat that price.
2. The Food's Included
If you've never been on a cruise before, you may not know that the food is included. And the food is good. You can have anything you want at any time of the day-- between buffets, ice cream machines, pizza parlors, and more, you'll always have all the food you could possibly want. Then, at dinner, the real fun starts-- have as many appetizers, entrees, and desserts as you want. They're included in the price, and they're delicious! Traditionally, you would come to the main dining room during your assigned seating time, but most cruise lines have started offering an "Any Time Dining" option.
3. They Go Anywhere You Want to Go
Tropical beaches with gorgeous, clear water? Check. Alaskan towns and cities full of incredible nature? Check. European cities on the Mediterranean Sea? Check. Norweigan fjords and villages? Check. Popular Hawaiian beaches and towns? Check there too. I'm pretty sure you get the picture...
Cruises will take you anywhere you want to go, including more exotic destinations like the Middle East, Asia, or French Polynesia.
4. They're Worry-Free
When you travel, there are so many variables. Where are you going to go, what are you going to do, and where are you going to eat? There are virtually infinite choices that you have to make, and we've all made decisions on vacation that we would later discover were not the best.
Cruises eliminate all of those variables and just leave you with worry-free fun. You don't have to worry about where you're going, how you're going to get there, or what you're going to eat or do. The cruise line has it all taken care of for you, and your job is just to have a relaxing vacation!
5. There's a Cruise for Everyone
There are so many cruise lines with so much to offer. Are you looking for best overall quality with a touch of magic? Disney Cruise Line, hands down. Best value? Carnival Cruise Line. Most to offer? Royal Caribbean. Each cruise line has its own style and unique attributes.
On virtually every cruise, there are kids clubs for kids to partake in summer camp-like activities, teen clubs, and adult-only clubs and pools. Whether you're looking for family fun or a couples getaway, you'll most certainly find what you're looking for!
6. The Shore Excursion Options are Amazing
Do you want to be waited on hand and foot on a private beach? Or to take a walking tour of the city? Or to go see the Mayan Ruins? Or to zipline, snorkel, scuba dive, or get hands-on with sting rays or dolphins? Do you want to take a bush plane over the glaciers of Alaska, or go on a wine-tasting tour in an Italian city? There is a shore excursion for everyone! And while you are more than free to just get off the ship and wander around without adding an excursion, it's so nice to know in advance what yo're going to do and how you're going to make the most of your time.
7. You Can't Get Bored
There's so much to do on a cruise. Movies by the pool, casinos, comedy clubs, dance clubs, lounges with live music, family-friendly game shows, raunchy game shows, Broadway-style shows, water slides and water parks, ziplines, ice-skating rinks, arcades, surf simulators, and more. Each ship is unique, but there's no way you'll get bored on a cruise.
8. The Cruise Lines' Private Islands
Boy, do I love the private islands like Disney's Castaway Cay and Royal Caribbean's Coo Cay. The beaches are pristine with lounge chairs and complimentary lunch at the ready. It's the perfect kind of day-- relaxation with options to be active, but without the hustle or bustle of the port. When we're at one of the cruise line's private islands, you'll find me taking a walk down the beach looking for wildlife, sunbathing in a beach chair, or wading in the warm, crystal-clear waters.
9. Motion Sickness? No Worries
I am totally prone to motion sickness, way more than most people. I rarely ever have this issue on a cruise. The ships are too big and go at too steady of a pace. When the waters are a little rocky, there are bracelets and medicine to help out. I am the queen of motion sickness (and sea sickness on smaller boats), but I rarely ever have that issue on a cruise!
10. They Work with Your Schedule
If you need a last-minute getaway and want to hop on a ship some time in the next couple of weeks, we can probably find a way to make that happen! Or if you want the rock-bottom price, you can book up to 1.5 years in advance, and get to look forward to it for that long! If you want to go in the dead of the winter, middle of the summer, or any time in between, there's always an opportunity for you to get your cruise on!
